Get started with CloakID
Updated August 2026: CloakID is currently in a private design-partner pilot, and onboarding during the pilot is free. This post reflects the current flow.
Starting with CloakID is as easy as adding a plug-in to your browser. There are some key considerations and preferences with popular browsers — the short version: CloakID runs on Firefox today.
The onboarding goes through several stages:

Account creation
You will be prompted to create or reuse your sign-in credentials. -
Plan activation — free during the pilot
Activation currently passes through our billing portal, so you may see a payment-style page along the way. No real payment card is required and you will not be charged — the page provides a test option that lets you complete activation. We know this is confusing; a cleaner flow is in the works. If you get stuck here, contact us or ask in the pilot Discord and we’ll walk you through it. -
Start Browsing
Download and enable the extension, then browse with your protection state visible per site.
